Creativity Thrives with Unity
It occurred to myself and my local website design agency recently how helpful it is to network with others via social media. For some reason, we haven’t put much value into LinkedIn, but I’m really starting to see why this is a good tool and different from other social media. I spoke to a colleague today about the possibility of creating a social media group to bolster a creative community of like minded individuals. Interests may include, but not limited to: website design, SEO professionals, web development, copywriting, writing, graphic design, art, art direction, marketing, video production, video editing, motion design, animation, podcasting, etc. for professionals in the Colorado area.
The Vision – Colorado Springs Marketing
I have been a graphic/website designer for 15 years. I thrive the most when I lean into the strengths and skill sets of others around me. Last year, I joined a team comprised of AWESOME individuals called Steck Insights. We are a small/midsize team of people that specialize in crafting beautiful and functional websites that help businesses and organizations thrive. As a small business owner and freelance web/graphic designer I wear many hats and take on ALL of the tasks. As a part of this team, I am able to flourish in my strengths and lean into others where I am not so strong (or, quite frankly, clueless at times).
This has led me to an epiphany; what if I were to do this on a much broader scale? How much stronger would we be if we banned together as a region, tapping into each other’s strengths! I know I have a wealth of information to offer; many successes, but perhaps even more importantly, all of the times I have been burned and learned a hard lesson from it. I am confident in my current skill set, but there are so many talented people in this community I can grow and learn from.
The Goal for this Group
Creatives unite! Let us network and lean into each others strengths. Let us come together Colorado, like minded, in one accord. Let us share ideas, successes, failures and how we overcome them. Let us present problems and solve them together. Let us show each other industry best practices and how to utilize AI as a tool, rather than be threatened by being replaced by it. Let us network and tap into each other’s strengths. Let us inspire each other with our creativity and moxi. Let us thrive, smile and laugh together because we can build mutual, communal success and everyone wins!
Inspiration
I have lived in Colorado all of my life and I have watched communities like Colorado Springs, Denver, Pueblo and the entire I-25 corridor bustle. Likewise, even some of the small mountain communities are not so small anymore. With growth, comes industry. With industry comes the need for marketing and creativity. I love looking at ALL of your marketing presence and becoming inspired by you on an individual and corporate level; much like a child admires his favorite baseball player, or basketball team.
The Conclusion: Strength in Unity
I know we have all had times where work nearly dries up, or we feel like we’re drinking from a firehose. We can help each other when work is sparse, or too much! There are so many fabulous marketing agencies in this area and there is no short supply of work if we can all help each other out. Perhaps there is something that you learned about the industry. A google SEO update, A WordPress/Shopify update, a hack or scam that’s going around, a new regional development to target, an APB for help. Whatever the case may be, we can grow together and other uses of this group can and will come into play.
I can’t wait to see where this goes and grows from here. I look forward to all of us banning together.
